TielsnGees Renos Update Sept 23

Posted by Bird Brain on September 23, 2014 at 11:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Happy first day of fall everyone! hoping you all enjoy the nice cooler weather that comes with this time of year, and hopefully winter doesnt come too quickly for you.

Anyways, I just wanted to say that I have found a way to incorperate a login and registration page into my new hand-coded site. I know this may not mean much, however, with this comes the possibility of creating custom forums, blogs, and chat lines. Although those last three are still a ways off as I got to figure  out how to code those (which is probably going to be pretty difficult), I do hope to have some good news for you soon!

Anyways, back to work for me! I'll try and keep you posted as much as possible!

Site Overhaul Update.

Posted by Bird Brain on September 12, 2014 at 2:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Being a college student has its ups and downs. Call, me lazy, smart, or even a procrastinator, I have had to push the site onto the back burner for the past while. I am hoping to pick up where i left off soon!

Since my last update, I have found a place where i can host my site and where I can probably implement user accounts, although they won't have the fancy member pages (well, at least not yet anyways. Im not THAT smart yet.) I have began working with some new codes which will enable me to (hopefully) make the logins more secure and also allow me to prevent spambots and crawlers to create fake accounts for advertizing purposes.

as well, I am also busy updating the medical section on the new site, so it will contain more diagnoses than what I have here. HOWEVER! keep in mind that what i have here, and what I will have on the new site is just a more general diagnosis, and the symptoms can differ between birds. Remember: if you are unsure, take them to a vet! A veterinarian will be able to give tou a much more accurate diagnosis than what we have here.

I am furiously working to make time to finish my site! My goal is to have it up and running within a year! Stay strong everyone, and i wish you all well!.

Site Renovations Feb. 21

Posted by Bird Brain on February 21, 2014 at 11:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Sorry about the long delay, but just to let everyone know that I'm still working away! College has almost halted progress because of the load of homework, but I'm squeezing in time here and there to add little bits and pieces.

Navigation bar will be totally redone now that I have found some cool effects to put into it, and I'll rearrange the links to make the site easier to navigate. (Already started working on this)

I've also started to freshen up the content and add some new information that I know many will find useful. Trying to get the pages sorted out before I start work on the design and layout (for the most part anyways). Also, I am considering adding information for other species of birds as well, such as lovebirds and finches.

Hoping to have some more updates for everyone soon! If there is anything that yo think i should add, questions, criticism, or comments, feel free to post it in the comments below.

Site Renovation

Posted by Bird Brain on August 26, 2012 at 11:45 AM Comments comments (0)

Hello everyone how are you doing today? I'm here to let you know that i have switched over to a new site builder, hence the new looks, and i am currently in the middle of fixing the text size problems that I have on my pages. This shouldn't take me too much longer as I am halfway done but please bear with me, It will be ready soon.

Another thing that I hope to do soon is add more information on Budgies on the existing pages due to the page limit I have, and i am thinking of adding a donation bar on the side for anyone who wishes to donate some money to help me create a better website with more features (like more pages), and maybe a few other things.

If you have any feedback or suggestions, even if you are a non-member, dont hesitate to post them in the comments below.

Thank-you.

In Loving Memory...

Posted by Bird Brain on February 20, 2012 at 12:25 AM Comments comments (0)

2:30pm on Saturday, February 19th, 2012, our budgie, TJ, was put down due to a large lump on his lower back. This little post is a tribute to his memory, and is also in memory to any of your pet birds who have left us as well.

Originally, we adopted our TJ when he was only a few months old. You could say that we rescued him because we found him without fresh food or water, and he was not in good condition. When we brought him into our house, he did seem to realize just how we saved him and, like all birds do, he gave tahnks to our family for saving him.

That was all 6 years ago. Just this December, we noticed a large lump that had formed on his lower abdomen, and we took him to the vet for an examination. We were told that he had jaundice, and that his liver was most likely done for. We feared the worst, but our little budgie had the strength to fight it off for another 2 months. whithin the last few days, we could tell that he was losing the fight, sitting in the corner of his cage barely eating, not singing at all, and it was not hard to see the pain he was in.

So on Saturday, we had to make a decision; watch him suffer, or put him out of his misery? My mother made the call while I was at work. She tells me that he enjoyed the car ride to the clinic, and that while they waited for the vetrinarian, TJ was kissing her more than he had during his time with us. We believe that he knew that we were trying to make things better, and that we would come and visit when we are ready to join him.

I have always thought of animals almost like they are human beings, and I have always believed that it is okay to cry if your most loved pet dies. Well for my family, our baby, our most loved was our TJ, and we are grieving. We will miss him.

 Rest in Peace. TJ. 2006-February 19, 2012.

Feel free to share your own stories, feelings, and condolences below in the comments.

OK, If you have a question, then post it as a comment right here. You won't need to sign up for it (if you do, it is a glitch I need to fix), but we will answer it as soon as we can.

(It will make it easier if you have an account here, but if you don't want one, then that's OK.

so what do you need?
